ACHHAM: The government has been asked for immediate rescue and relief works in Achham district as the landslide and floods caused huge loss of lives and properties.

Soon after the beginning of today’s meeting of the House of Representatives, lawmaker Bhim Bahadur Rawal urged the Home Minister for rescue and relief works reasoning that the landslide and floods following incessant rainfall claimed several lives and destroyed properties at many places of Achham district.

As many as 17 persons were already confirmed dead in the disaster.

Leader Rawal requested the government to send clothes, food, medicines and medical appliance for treatment of the injured people from a helicopter as security personnel had not reached the incident sites yet due to road obstruction.
