SSF contributors can get loan thru mobile app



KATHMANDU: Contributors to the Social Security Fund (SSF) can now avail of different types of loan facilities through its mobile application.

The Fund has launched the app today. The contributors could get special credit, housing loan, educational loan and social loan using the app.

At a program organized at the Ministry of Labor, Employment and Social Security today, Labor Minister Sher Bahadur Kunwar launched the contributor special credit and mobile app.

On the occasion, contributors- Binay Kumar Mahato and Pawan Babu Pradhan received the amount of special credit and amount of retirement service by Keshav Khadka through mobile app.

Those contributors have been regularly contributing to the Fund from Shrawan 2076 BS can get special credit and other loan from the Fund. Around 700 contributors have now become able to get such facilities.

Altogether of 352,924 contributors are enrolled in the Fund so far. A total of Rs 22.08 million have been deposited in the fund so far. The Fund had started collecting such amount from Shrawan, 2076 BS. There is a provision that a contributor enrolled in the Fund has to deposit 11 per cent of amount of his/her basic remuneration and the employer has to contribute 20 per cent monthly.

As per the Contributors Credit Guidelines-2079, a contributor contributing to the Fund continuously for three years can get such credit and loans.

Minister Kunwar directed the Fund to make its service technology-friendly and urged to widen the social security coverage.
