KATHMANDU: Inspector General of Police Dhiraj Pratap Singh has said the entire police force is now focused on coming November 20 parliamentary and provincial elections.

The Nepal Police is working to ensure that the polls are held organized in a credible and fearless atmosphere, he said while talking to media-persons in Rajbiraj on Wednesday.

“The main goal of Nepal Police is to create an environment conducive for voters to cast their vote in an impartial and fearless way”, IGP Singh said.

He also expected help from civil society and media-persons on the matter while emphasizing journalists’ ‘important role’ in controlling and reducing all sort of social evils through the media.

Singh sought help from them to stem smugglings, black marketing and violence against women in Madhes Province that ‘has reported increasing cases of these crimes as compared to other provinces’.
