NEPSE gains about 2 points on first trading day of new fiscal year



KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index gained 1.93 points on the first day of new fiscal.

Sunday marks the first day of the new fiscal year 2022/23.

The index that opened at 2010.92 points made an intraday low of 1,994.75 and an intraday high of 2,018.97 before closing at 2,011.39 points today (Sunday).

The index had gained 7.93 points last Friday.

A total of 3,045,889 shares of 210 companies traded hands via 25,924 transactions, resulting in a turnover of Rs 1.232 billion. This is lower than last trading day (Friday)’s turnover of Rs 1.456 billion.

Radhi Bidyut Company Ltd gained the highest 5.48 percent while the Upper Tamakoshi Hydropower Ltd became the top stock by turnover today.

Five out of thirteen sub-indices closed green as “Investment” gained the highest 0.91 percent and “Hotels and Tourism” lost the highest 1.2 percent in the stock market.
