KATHMANDU: Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has begun collecting degradable and non-biodegradable waste separately from today.

As per the agreement made by the metropolis with the Kathmanduites, according to the plan to manage the waste only by separating it, the KMC is collecting the waste separately beginning today.

After the protest of the residents of Bancharedanda in Nuwakot district, the landfill site of Kathmandu, the KMC has taken the initiative to manage the garbage by classifying it.

The KMC has urged Kahtmanduites to facilitate waste management according to the notice.

KMC Mayor, Balen Shah, had last week launched a door-to-door campaign to separate the degradable and non-biodegradable waste.
