UML lets parliament run sans obstruction after 9 months

KATHMANDU: The main opposition CPN-UML has ended the nine-month-long obstruction in the House of Representatives today.

The UML did not obstruct the first day of the budget session.

UML had been obstructing the parliament since August 8, 2021, saying that Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota had played a role in split of the party.

Taking time during the first day of the budget session, UML Deputy General Secretary Pradeep Gyawali said that the party has ended the house obstruction as the guilty ones have been punished by the public in May 13 election.

“Even though the court has not taken any action, I think the people have made a fair decision in the recent local elections,” he said, indicating the poor performance of Madhav Nepal led CPN-Unified Socialist party.
