Counting staffs input wrong data to ‘favor’ UML in Tilottama, vote counting postponed

BUTWAL: The counting of votes in Tilottama Municipality of Rupendehi has been halted due to a dispute between the enumerators and the Nepali Congress representatives in Tilottama, Rupandehi.

The counting of votes has been postponed due to the controversy arising from the mistakes committed by counting officers while counting votes.

As per the results in ward no. 16, the counting officials were found entering 114 for 141 of Nepali Congress (NC) votes and 296 for 259 votes of CPN-UML.

Election Officer Madhav Prasad Lohani has published the information and admitted that the result turned different.

In Tilottama municipality, there is fierce competition between UML’s Mohan Chapagain and NC’s Ram Krishna Khan. Home Minister Bal Krishna is the brother of Khan.
