NC’s Lama elected in Karmarong Rural Municipality



MUGU: Tshiring Kyapre Lama of Nepali Congress (NC) has been elected the chair of Rural Municipality in Mugum Karmarong in Mugu district.

He got 1,571 votes against his rival Sonam Lama of CPN (UML) who received 1,481 votes.

Tshiring Phutik Mala of CPN (UML) got 1,561 votes in her election to the post of Vice-Chairperson against her rival Guru Syangyap Lama of Maoist Centre’s 1,385 votes, Election Officer Tara Prasad Pokharel said.

Newly-elected Chair Lama was elected to the post again for the second time after his election to the post in 2017.

In the rural municipality, NC has won in five wards and UML in four wards.

Out of four local levels, the counting of votes is ongoing in one municipality and two other rural municipalities in the district of Mugu.
