NEPSE loses 30 points on first trading day of 2079 BS



KATHMANDU: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index has shed 29.60 points on the first trading day of the new Nepali year 2079.

The stock market lost 1.23 percent overall and closed at at 2,385.65 points on Sunday.

A total of 3,407,272 shares of 233 listed-companies were traded via 29,044 transactions today, resulting in total turnover of Rs 1.44 billion.

Likewise, NEPSE’s total market capitalization stood at 3,384,122.86 millions on the first trading day of 2079 BS.

All sub-indices closed red, indicating that investors’ confidence was dwindling.

The Sensitive Index also fell by 5.12 points to 450.98.

Shares prices of 167 companies fell while prices of 24 companies rose on Sunday.

Shares of NESDO Sambridha Microfinance rose 10 percent in the downward market.

The share price of NESDO rose by Rs 226 to close at Rs 2,488.
