Police arrest four persons with leopard hide



KATHMANDU: Police have held four persons with the leopard hide.

A police team mobilized from Metropolitan Police Sector Budhanilkantha arrested 35-year-old Bishnu Sunar of Chandrakot Rural Municipality-7, Gulmi district, 29-year-old Phuri Sherpa of Khijighomba Rural Municipality, Solukhumbu district, 24-year-old Binod Shrestha of Gajuri Rural Municipality-5, Dhading district and 30-year-old Bikas Purkuti of Kamalamai Municipality-4, Sindhuli.

They were arrested on Friday and were paraded before the media Sunday.

Spokesman at the Metropolitan Police Range Kathmandu, Superintendent of Police Dinesh Raj Mainali said that the four persons were arrested from the Purba Paschim Guest House operated by Laxmi Prasad Giri at Galphutaar, Budhanilkantha Municipality-8.

Police confiscated a 4.3 feet long and two feet wide hide along with the tail, another hide measuring 6.9 feet long along with the tail and three feet wide leopard hide, a leopard head without its skin, three Oppo mobile sets and one Samsung mobile set from the arrestees.

Mainali said all four have been sent to the Division Forest Office Hattisar Kathmandu for necessary investigation and action.
