JSP Chairs Yadav and Bhattarai meet Maoist Chair Prachanda on Sunday

KATHMANDU: CPN-Maoist Center Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) Federal Council Chairman Dr. Baburam Bhattarai, and Chairman Upendra Yadav have met at Maoist Center’s parliamentary party office at Singha Durbar, in Kathmandu, on Sunday.

According to Maoist Center sources, the three leaders discussed the prospective strategy the ruling coalition must adopt in the forthcoming local election. The leaders also discussed the coalition between the Maoist Center and the JSP if the five-party alliance fails in some places.

The heads of the JSP and the Maoist Center met for about 45 minutes from 11:45 am to 12:30 pm.

After realizing that there were complications in forging the electoral coalition everywhere, Maoist Center Chair Prachanda called JSP leaders duo Dr. Bhattrai and Yadav to discuss the possibility of an alliance between the two parties.

“During the meeting, the two parties agreed to maximize coordination by holding discussions at the local level,” a JSP leader said.

The Maoist Center and the JSP are planning to take a similar stand on coalition meetings under the coordination of Nepali Congress senior leader Ram Chandra Poudel.
