EC deploys 77 chiefs, 676 returning officers for local election



KATHMANDU: The Election Commission (EC) has appointed Chief Electoral Officers in 77 districts for the local level elections.

The EC said that election officials have been deployed at 676 out of 753 local levels.

The Chief Electoral Officer has been given the responsibility of overseeing the local-level elections in the district headquarters.

The Commission has already provided the necessary training to the chief and returning officers.

According to the EC Spokesperson, Shaligram Sharma Poudel, appointment letters have been issued to the Chief Election Officers and the Returning Officers.

The Commission has appointed district judges as chief election officers.
