BUTWAL: Chairman of the ruling Maoist Center Pushpa Kamal Dahal “Prachanda” has said that the possibility of an electoral alliance with the main opposition CPN (UML) is still alive.

Speaking at a press conference in Butwal on Thursday, Prachanda said that although there was no possibility of an immediate alliance with the UML, there are possibilities of forging an electoral alliance with the party.

“I have already said before that politics is a game of possibility. Therefore, electoral alliance with the UML is not impossible,” he said.

Prachanda’s views come at a time when some Nepali Congress leaders have been mounting pressure on Prime Minister and NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba not to forge an electoral alliance with the Maoists.

“It is important that we all went to the polls with our agenda. Coordination between the parties of the alliance is secondary,” Prachanda said.
