40 political parties lost their bail

KATHMANDU: Forty political parties have lost the amount they deposited while registering to file candidacy in the general election held on November 20.

According to Election Commission (EC) of Nepal, 4,285 candidates who failed to get 10 percent of the total votes have forfeited their bail.

In a press conference on Wednesday, the number of candidates getting their bail forfeited amounts more than 76 percent of the total candidates.

The election law provisions that the bail of the candidate who cannot get 10 percent of the total votes cast directly will be forfeited.
