15,000 fake ballot papers seized in Parsa



PARSA: The police have arrested an Indian national with 15,000 fake ballot papers in Jagarnathpur-2, Dasauta, Parsa at 3.30 pm on Tuesday.

According to DSP Dipak Giri of  Parsa police, 40-year-old Lizaz Ahmed from Bihar, India came to Nepal on a motorcycle with Indian number and carried 15,000 fake ballot papers.

He is now kept in the area police office Pokharia.

“Discussions are going on between the chief district officer and the election officer as to whether action will be taken under the crime,” DSP Giri said, “the decision has not been made yet.”

Ahmad, who was arrested, claimed that he had brought the ballot paper for voter education.

The police are investigating for further details.
