President Bhandari stresses on quality education



POKHARA: President Bidya Devi Bhandari has laid emphasis on the quality education.

Addressing the Diamond Jubilee closing ceremony of Bindhyabasini Secondary School at Batulechour of Pokhara metropolitan city-16 on Tuesday, President Bhandari said human resources capable to compete globally as per the need of 21st century should be prepared.

She opined, “Skill-oriented, scientific and practical education are the basis of prosperous Nepal. Equitable and justifiable access of citizens to quality education should be established as education is the basis of overall development of the country.”

The President also pointed out the need of mobilizing necessary means and resources for the prosperity and development of the nation and developing their managerial capacity.

Stating Gandaki Province is filled with natural beauty, biodiversity and cultural heritages, President Bhandari stressed that our educational activities should be focused for producing and developing necessary human resources promoting entrepreneurship based on natural resources and heritages of this area.

She expressed happiness, saying Bindhyabasini Secondary School has become successful to establish itself as the best five school across the country at a time when the state has not got the result as per the investment in community education.

The President also expressed happiness over running classes of technical education by the school. She said we all should forward the country’s journey of development and prosperity ahead learning from our proud history.

Similarly, Chief Minister of Gandaki Province, Krishna Chandra Nepali Pokharel, pointed out the need of producing capable human resources by utilizing new technology. He added that it was necessary to make timely change in education sector at the present context where three-tier governments are active.

Likewise, Mayor of Pokhara metropolitan city, Dhan Raj Acharya, praised the efforts and hardship of the school, carrying a long history, to establish itself as the best school.

On the occasion, President Bhandari using a technology unveiled the diamond pillar and inaugurated the school building. Various personalities were honored for their contribution in education sector in the program.

School Principal Krishna Prasad Acharya, Director of Central Project Implementation Unit (Education), Ram Sharan Sapkota, among others talked about the school.

A cultural performance was present on the occasion.
