Bamdev Gautam to contest under Maoist Center’s election symbol



KATHMANDU: The CPN Maoist Center’s Standing Committee meeting has accepted the proposal of Bamdev Gautam to contest Nov 20 elections jointly under the former’s election symbol after Dr Baburam Bhattarai.

Party Spokesperson Krishna Bahadur Mahara said that the meeting held in Parisdanda on Tuesday approved the proposal for jointly contesting the election of the Nepal Samajwadi Party led by Bhattarai and the CPN-Unity National Campaign led by Bamdev Gautam.

Following the acceptance of the proposal, Gautam reached the Election Commission to enquire about the legal procedures for running in the November polls under Maoist Center’s election symbol.
