China halts Himalayan Airlines flights after passengers test positive for COVID19



KATHMANDU: China has barred four flights of Himalaya Airlines after passengers onboard were found infected with COVID19.

China has halted four Himalaya Airlines flights from Kathmandu to Kunming after 15 people, including 9 students and 6 Chinese nationals, on the flight were confirmed to be infected with coronavirus on August 2.

According to Assistant Spokesperson of Nepal Civil Aviation Authority, Gyanendra Bhul, the Civil Aviation Authority of China halted the flights scheduled to Kunming from Kathmandu on August 23, August 30, September 6 and September 13.

Infected patients have to spend 14 days in quarantine in China and 16 more days at a home or a designated place on their own expense.
