Asian Cadet and Junior Judo Championship taking place in Bangkok



KATHMANDU: The Asian Cadet and Junior Judo Championship is taking place in Bangkok from July 17-23.

A Nepali judo team has already reached Bangkok to take part in the Championship.

National Sports Council (NSC) member-secretary Tankalal Ghishing bade farewell to the eight-member team that comprises four players and wished for its successful participation in the event.

Uttam Pradhan Shrestha (men, junior, under 60 kgs), Devaki Maya Shrestha (women under 52 kgs), Tara Bahadur Bhujel (men, Cadet, under 55 kgs) and Nisha Shrestha (under 48 kgs) will represent Nepal in the event.

Devaki and Nisha are biological sisters. Deepak Harsh Bajracharya, chair of Nepal Judo Association and education and coaching commission member, Judo Union of Asia joins the team as its leader while Dawa Gyaljen is the team manager and Deepak Shrestha is the coach.
