PM assigns additional portfolios to two ministers



KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has assigned the portfolio of two more ministries to Minister for Education, Science and Technology Devendra Paudel and of one ministry to Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Narayan Khadka.

National Assembly Chair Ganesh Prasad Timilsina informed the Assembly session about this Thursday, reading out from a letter received from the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers in this connection.

It is stated that the Prime Minister has assigned the additional portfolios on the two ministers as three ministers have left here to participate in separate programs abroad.

Minister Poudel has been assigned to look after the portfolio of the Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation as Minister for Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation Shashi Shrestha is on a visit to Europe.

Similarly, Minister Paudel is also assigned the portfolio of the Ministry of Youth and Sports as the Minister for Youth and Sports Maheshwor Jung Gahatraj is in Russia for a program.

Likewise, PM Deuba has allocated Minister for Foreign Affairs Khadka to look after the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies as Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies Dilendra Prasad Badu has left for Switzerland to take part in a program of the World Trade Union to be held in Geneva, Switzerland.
