Disaster preparedness intensified in Rasuwa



RASUWA: Keeping precaution on the potential effects of floods and landslides during the rainy season, search and rescue preparedness has been intensified in mountainous Rasuwa district.

As the rainy season has already set in and that it can trigger big loss of lives and properties, security agencies have engaged in preparedness practice to make search and rescue operations effective.

The preparedness is to reduce the risks resulting in from the incidents of natural disasters in the rainy season.

According to District Disaster Management committee chairperson and Chief District Officer Nawaraj Jaisi, there is an inventory of rescue materials with security agencies and human resource has been kept in ready-to-move situation.

He further said with this the disaster response is likely to be more effective than in the previous years.

Training has been imparted to the Nepal Army officers and cadets and other 55 security personnel from the Armed Police Force and the Nepal Police for rapid rescue and safety of lives in natural disaster.
