NC wins Madane rural municipality chair



GULMI: Nepali Congress (NC)’s candidate Mahendra Kunwar has been elected chairperson of Madane rural municipality in Gulmi district, defeating his nearest rival by a close margin of 10 votes.

Kunwar, who secured 4,707, was declared the winner on Monday noon. His nearest rival CPN (UML)’s Prem KC got 4,697 votes.

Similarly, CPN (UML)’s Sarita Khadka was elected vice-chairperson with 4,565 votes against CPN (Maoist Centre)’s Begam Chand who received 4,211 votes.
