Coalition candidate Acharya widens gap against rival Thapa in Pokhara



POKHARA: Dhanraj Acharya of the CPN-United Socialist, a mayoral coalition candidate in Pokhara metropolis, has retained the lead widening the vote difference with his nearest contestant from CPN-UML Krishna Thapa.

Out of the 12,097 votes counted till 4.30 pm, Dhanraj received 4,848 leading the UML candidate by 496 vote difference. UML’s Thapa got 4,352 votes.

Similarly, Nepali Congress candidate Kopila Ranabhat from the alliance has also taken the lead in the post of deputy mayor. She has left Manju Gurung of UML by 55 votes. While Ranabhat got 4,993 votes, Gurung is following with 4,938 votes.
