Nepal and India sign five MoUs in Lumbini

LUMBINI: Nepal and India have signed five Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) in Lumbini today.

The MoUs were signed in presence of Prime Minister She Bahadur Deuba and his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi.

An understanding was reached between the two countries to deepen the centuries-old educational and cultural ties between Nepal and India.

The Indian Academy of Education and Culture has signed three MoUs each with Lumbini Buddhist University and Tribhuvan University and three with Kathmandu University.

Two other MoUs have been signed with the University and ICCR, the same university, and the Indian Institute of Technology, Chennai.

This is Modi’s fifth visit to Nepal as Prime Minister. However, this is his first visit to Lumbini. He made four visits during his first term as prime minister.
