UML’s Subedi takes lead against Renu Dahal in Bharatpur metropolis



KATHMANDU: The counting of votes is underway in the Bharatpur Metropolitan City of Chitwan.

So far, the results of the two wards (1 and 2) have been made public. Nepali Congress (NC) candidates have won elections in both wards. In ward no. 3, too, the NC is taking the lead.

Until the posting of this news, 8,863 votes have been counted. While Renu Dahal got 3,147 votes, UML’s Bijaya Subedi got 3,153 votes. Independent candidate Jagannath Khatiwada got 1,093 votes.

The ruling coalition’s candidate for deputy mayor has received 3,498 votes. The RPP candidate has received 2,511 votes.

Looking at the trend of votes received, it is seen that other candidates of the ruling coalition got 100 percent of the panel votes.

In ward no. 1, the elected ward chairperson got 1,397 votes while in ward no. 2, NC candidate received 2,105 votes.
Adding this, 3,502 votes are cast.

NC’s Chitrasen Adhikari got 3,498 votes for the post of deputy mayor – the only four votes less the number of votes received by the ward chairman. But Renu did not get the same proportion of votes.
