No space for monarchy in Nepal: RPP Chairman Thapa

Chairman of Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) Nepal Kamal Thapa has said that there is no chance of restoring monarchy in Nepal.

Wishing the RPP leaders and cadres happy new year through social media on Saturday, former RPP Chairman Thapa remarked that despite being sympathetic to the monarchy, he has concluded that there is no future of monarchy in Nepal.

“I left the agenda of restoration of monarchy for various reasons. Sadly, the possibility of the king’s return is now over,” he said, adding, “If one political party fails, another will replace it, but there is no chance of giving space to the monarchy.”

Electoral collaboration issue will be finalized till Sunday: Chair Prachanda

Chairperson of the CPN (Maoist Centre), Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, has said that the issue of electoral collaboration among the ruling coalition parties would be finalized till Sunday.

Talking to media persons at Bharatpur Airport this morning, Chair Dahal shared that a draft would be prepared till this evening and probably, a conclusion would be drawn till tomorrow.

Competition can also take place within alliance: NC Spokesperson Mahat

Nepali Congress (NC) Spokesperson Dr. Prakash Sharan Mahat has said that there could be competition between the ruling parties at any local level.

Speaking to reporters at the party’s central office in Sanepa during a meeting of the party’s central working committee on Saturday, he said there could be friendly competition at the local level if more than one party in the alliance thinks it will win.

However, he said that no party could form an alliance with the CPN-UML at such a local level.

Nepal Airlines to start direct flight to Saudi Arabia from April 22

The national flag carrier, Nepal Airlines, is launching a direct flight from Kathmandu to Riyadh city of Saudi Arabia from April 22.

The Nepal Airlines (NA) informed that the wide-body A 330 plane was launching the flight to Saudi Arabia.

Civic poll on scheduled date-CEC Thapaliya

Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Dinesh Kumar Thapaliya said the free and fair election would be held in the stipulated time.

At a media orientation program on local election, 2079 held at Janakpurdham today, he said there was no situation now to defer the pre-scheduled local election and also pledged to conduct free and fair election in the stipulated date.
