Opposition trying to reverse political gains: Maoist Chair Prachanda

KATHMANDU: CPN-Maoist Center Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said that the opposition is trying to overthrow the republic and it is necessary to explain this to the people.

Speaking at a party training program at Devchuli in Nawalpur, east of Nawalparasi Bardaghat Susta, on Saturday, Chairman Prachanda said that the alliance would continue till the election.

“Coordinating local elections within the coalition is not an easy task. Everyone wishes their party would win more votes. But the alliance will remain from the local level to federal elections,” he said.

He said that the upcoming election was not just an election for the Maoists but a ‘battle’.

Prachanda said, “The coming election is not an election for us, it is a battle, it is a battle.”

He added the Maoists have to win the upcoming election at all costs.

“The Maoists are bound to win the coming election in any case. If the Maoists win loses, the constitution, the republic will also be lost. Women, Dalits, Janajatis, Tharus, Adivasis and Madhesis are all represented in the Moaist. All of the political achievements of the past are lost,” he stated.
