Youth Chef’s Competition to explore and promote Nepali cuisine at international level



KATHMANDU: Chefs Association of Nepal is going to organize Youth Chef’s Competition on coming Sunday to explore and promote Nepali cuisine at international level.

The hotel management students from 11 colleges within the Kathmandu Valley will take part in the cooking competition to be organized in association with Global Nepalese Chefs Federation and International Chefs Society, said Federation President Laxman Prasad Bhandari.

The international observer for the competition will be BBC MasterChef UK winner Santosh Shah and other finalists Chef Alex Webb, Chef Bart Van Der Lee and Chef Phillipa Armitage. The national observer will be Chef Suryakiran Shrestha and Shyam Lama, it was shared.

The competition also aims to encourage young chefs and generate positive thoughts among the youths towards Nepali cuisine.

The winner of the competition will take home Rs 100,000 cash prize, the first runner will bag Rs 50,000 while the third will get Rs 25,000, said the organizers.
