Local level free to use discretion regarding electoral alliance: NC Gen Secy Thapa

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) General Secretary Gagan Thapa has said that the party’s lower committee is independent on whether to form an electoral alliance or not.

Addressing a party’s program at Budhanilkantha, Thapa said, “No one should be confused about the party’s decision. Local level friends can decide whether to collaborate or not. No one can enforce it. ”

Stating that the central mechanism of the five-party ruling alliance has decided to form an electoral alliance at the local level as per the need, General Secretary Thapa said that the lower committee has the right to use its own discretion regarding electoral alliance.

He further said that the NC could contest the election alone.
