NC holding CWEC meeting today

To finalize electoral candidates for metropolis, sub-metropolis



KATHMANDU: The ruling Nepali Congress is holding  a Central Work Execution Committee (CWEC) meeting to discuss the issue of local elections today.

Chief Secretary of the NC central party office Krishna Prasad Paudel said that a meeting of the CWEC will be held at the central party office office, Sanepa at 2 pm.

Poudel said that the office-bearers and members of the CWEC have been called to attend today’s meeting.

In the local elections, the decision of the candidate for mayors and deputy mayors of the metropolis and sub-metropolis will be taken by the center.

He further said that the mayoral and deputy mayoral candidates of the metropolis and sub-metropolis are also on the agenda of today’s meeting.

Local level election is being held on May 13. The Election Commission has intensified preparations to this effect.

The Commission has set April 24 and 25 as the deadline for registration of candidates.
