UML to hold politburo meeting on March 21



KATHMANDU: The major opposition party CPN-UML has called a politburo meeting on March 21.

A secretariat meeting of the party held on Tuesday took a decision to this effect.

Similarly, the meeting heled at UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli yesterday called for central committee meeting and standing Committee meeting for March-23-24 and March 27, respectively.

Likewise, the secretariat meeting which focused on the upcoming local level election has endorsed the criteria for recommending candidates for local elections.

According to the criteria, the UML’s ward committee would recommend the candidate forward chair and member while district committee will decide on the tickets for the election to be held on May 13.

Likewise, rural municipality chairperson and vice-chairperson as well as mayoral candidates will be recommended by the district committee, Gurung said.

The meeting also decided to prepare manifesto for the upcoming election.
