NEPSE downtrends by 19.84 points Wednesday



KATHMANDU: The stock market which had gone green on Tuesday has declined again on Wednesday.

Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index fell by 19.84 points to go down again to  2,734.44 Wednesday. The stock market index had risen by 53.30 points to reach 2,754.28 on the previous day.

A total of 56,052,182 shares of 231 companies were traded during the day, resulting in a turnover of Rs 3.63 billion. Of the total companies traded Wednesday, 154 declined when 32  saw a rise. The value of the remaining five companies turned stable.

Of the 13 subgroups traded today, the indicators of only 2 subgroups became positive and the indicators of the remaining 11 subgroups went negative. The life insurance and other were the only subgroups to witness a rise.

According to the NEPSE, Api Power Company became the company to have highest number of share transactions today. The company had a turnover of Rs 211.465 million. Api’s position was followed by National Hydropower Company’s Rs 177.847 million, Arun Valley Hydropower Development’s Rs 168.71 million, NTC’s Rs 148.83 million and United Insurance’s Rs 132.56 million in terms of Wednesday’s transaction.
