Supreme Court issues show cause order against Minister Ale

KATHMANDU: Supreme Court has issued a show-cause order against Minister for Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation Prem Bahadur Ale on the contempt of court allegations.

Hearing on the writ filed by Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) Chief Executive Officer Dhananjaya Regmi against Minister Ale and nine board members of had NTB, the apex court issued a show-cause order asking why they should not be sued in the contempt of court case.

A single bench of justice Kumar chudal issued the show-cause order.

Regmi had filed a case against Minister Ale and NTB board members on February 8.

According to Regmi’s legal adviser Khagendra Subedi, the court has asked Minister Ale and 9 members of the NTB board to reply appearing in person or submit a written reply to the court within seven days from Tuesday.

Earlier, accusing CEO Regmi of abuse of power, misappropriation and corruption, Minister Ale had sacked him in the capacity of NTB Chairman.
