KATHMANDU: A meeting of the House of Representatives (HoR) is taking place at 1 pm today.
The agenda item of the HoR meeting made public by the federal parliament secretariat includes the endorsement of a condolence motion.
The government is making preparations to table the millennium challenge corporation (MCC) in the parliament. However, this controversial issue has not yet featured in the agenda item.
Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota has called a meeting of the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) prior to the HoR meeting. The meeting is likely to make some changes in the agenda items, it is learnt.
A parliamentary party (PP) meeting called by ruling Nepali Congress (NC) Tuesday had decided to table the MCC in the parliament.
NC President and Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba had urged Speaker Sapkota to table the MCC in the parliament. NC has stated that the Speaker is positive about this issue.
Ruling CPN (Maoist Center) and CPN (Unified Socialist), however, have not opened up on the MCC.
Main opposition CPN-UML has said that it will take an appropriate decision once the ruling alliance make its views public on this issue.
