KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court has refused to register a writ petition that demanded an impeachment motion against Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher Rana.
Apex court Registrar Narayan Panthi refused to file the petition tabled by advocate Madhav Kumar Basnet, saying the petition did not come under the ambit of the court.
The petitioner sought a court order in the name of the Speaker and Lower House of Parliament to initiate a probe into the allegations against Chief Justice Rana immediately, citing the serious nature of the allegations, within the scope of the constitution.
