Army personnel succumbs to injuries from elephant attack in Chitwan



CHITWAN: An Army personnel succumbed to injuries from a wild elephant attack in the Chitwan National Park, Chitwan district.

Gupta Bahadur Thapa, corporal of Khadga Battalion of Nepal Army, was on patrol when a wild tusker named Dhrube attacked him around 6 pm on Saturday, according to the District Police Office, Chitwan.

The 35-year-old who is originally from Phimti Rural Municipality-4 in Baglung district was cycling when ‘Dhrube’ attacked him, said SSP Narahari Adhikari.

Critically injured in the incident, he was rushed to the Purano Medical College where he breathed his last during the treatment.
