“Voters’ active participation needed in elections”

POKHARA: Chief of Gandaki Province Prithvi Man Gurung has said active participation of citizens was needed in the upcoming federal and provincial assembly polls to strengthen democracy.

He argued that active participation of Nepalis was expected since the federal democratic system was established in the country by uprooting the monarchy.

At a program organized by Bindhyabasini Religious Area Development Committee in Pokhara today, the Province Chief also asked the voters to cast their vote on their own conscience without any greed and fear of others.

“People are powerful in democracy. Each vote is equally important in elections. The winners should also serve the people. So, let’s work together to safeguard democracy,” Province Chief Gurung said.
