EC asked to arrange for disabled-friendly voting centers



DAMAULI: With the days for November 20 election advancing closer, people have demanded the Election Commission to arrange for the disabled friendly voting centers.

Office-bearers of the organizations working in the sector of disability on Friday met District Election Officer, Hari Prasad Dhakal, and expressed their concern about it.

Chairperson of Sahridayi Manch Tanahu Nepal, Sabitri Subedi, shared that a broad discussion was held on how to make HoR and Province Assembly election-2079 disabled-friendly.

They also demanded disabled-friendly election system, voter’s education, disabled-friendly voting centers, an arrangement of vehicle pass for disabled people to reach the voting centers, said Subedi.

On the occasion, District Election Officer Dhakal said necessary efforts are being taken to make the voting centers disabled-friendly.
