KMC prohibits smoking in public places



KATHMANDU: Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has prohibited smoking in public places in the city.

Issuing a notice on Thursday, KMC has said smoking will be prohibited from September 17.

The notification states that smoking cigarettes, cigars, chewing tobacco, or other tobacco products in public places will be prohibited.

The KMC has warned of action according to the Tobacco Products (Control and Regulation) Act, 2068, against those violating the rule.
