KATHMANDU: The ruling coalition task force has entrusted coordinator Krishna Prasad Sitaula with the task of tabling proposals for seat distribution among partners in the upcoming General Elections.

The meeting of the task force held at the Prime Minister’s residence in Baluwatar on Monday entrusted the Nepali Congress leader with coming up with proposals for seat distribution on the basis of performance of the parties in the 2017 general elections and the 2022 local elections.

Task force member Gyanendra Bahadur Karki said that there has been understanding in the task force to give due consideration to the United Socialist Party that was formed only in 2022 and has no records for the past elections.

According to another task force member, Sitaula will table a proposal at the next meeting convened for Wednesday.
