Tiger devours three crocodiles



CHITWAN: A tiger has devoured three Gharial crocodiles at the Chitwan National Park (CNP)’s crocodile breeding centre at Kasara.

This is the first incident of its kind here in which the big cat has eaten up crocodile.

A tiger that was injured during a fight with another one ate the crocs, CNP Information Officer Ganesh Prasad Tiwari said.

According to him, the injured tiger entered the breeding centre by crossing over the shorter portion of the wall from where people used to enter it, after it could not hunt.

Tiwari shared that the tiger ate up female crocodiles of around 12 years during the morning time.

The tiger is also about 12 years old male. The tiger has been darted and taken under control. It has been sent to Banke, he said.
