Scorching heat affects normal life in Mahottari

BARDIBAS: Normal life in Mahottari district has been affected due to scorching heat since there was no rain for the past two weeks. The maximum temperature in the district is recorded as high as 38 degrees Celsius in recent days.

With the rise in temperature, the number of patients in the district has gone up, the health workers shared.

Dr Pradip Kumar Sah of Jaleshwor Provincial Hospital said the number of patients visiting the hospital has increased on daily basis after the excessive heat.

Dr Kishor Adhikari of Bardibas Hospital said the number of patients visiting the hospitals for the treatment of fever and typhoid has increased lately.

Meanwhile, the incidents of snakebite have also increased in Mahottari due to scorching heat. This week, two persons died of snakebite on their ways to the hospitals for further treatment after being referred from the Gauridanda Snakebite Treatment Centre at Bardibas Municipality-3. (RSS)
