Coalition leaders hold meeting at Baluwatar

PM Deuba calls emergency cabinet meeting today



KATHMANDU: A meeting of the top leaders of the five-party ruling coalition is underway at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar.

Leaders including Prime Minister and Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba, Maoist Center Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal “Prachanda” and Unified Socialist Chair Madhav Kumar Nepal, among others, are participating in the meeting.

According to a leader, Maoist Chairman Prachanda informed about his upcoming visit to India at the meeting.

Also on the agenda of the meeting are the election of the Deputy Speaker to be held at 3 o’clock today, the citizenship bill, the amendment of the Act related to transitional justice and the extension of the deadline of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission and the Disappearance Investigation Commission.

Likewise, Prime MInister Deuba has called a meeting of the Cabinet today itself, sources said.
