SC hearing IGP case today



KATHMANDU: Supreme Court (SC) is hearing the writ petition regarding the promotion of Inspector General of Police (IGP) today.

Lawyers on behalf of the petitioner will present their arguments today.

The SC can give its verdict today after the hearing.

The case is being heard in the bench of Acting Chief Justice Deepak Kumar Karki and Justice Kumar Chudal.

The Supreme Court has been hearing the writ petition of IGP controversy for the past few weeks.

AIG Bishwaraj Pokharel had filed a writ petition at the apex court claiming that the decision not to promote him was illegal.

The government had appointed Dhiraj Pratap Singh as the police chief.
