One dead, two hurt in lightning



TAPLEJUNG: A person died and two others were hurt after being struck from lightning at Meringden Rural Municipality-2 in Taplejung district.

The incident occurred at Santhakra village in Meringden on Thursday, killing 15-year-old Lal Kumar Sherpa.

The District Police Office, Taplejung, said Sherpa died on the spot while working on his farm during the time of lightning.

Likewise, Nimtemba Sherpa, 19, and Nim Lhyamu Sherpa, 12, who were hurt from the lightning have returned home after the primary treatment in a local health post, according to the police.
