Maoist Center overtakes rival NC in Chaurjahari Municipality of Rukkum West



KATHMANDU: The CPN-Maoist Center has outpaced the Nepali Congress (NC) in Chaurjahari Municipality of Rukum West.

Maoist Center mayoral candidate Pushpa Wadi is leading with 1,850 votes against nearest rival NC’s Prem Bahadur Oli, who has got 1,655 votes. Prasharam Khatri of Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) got one vote in the mayoral race.

Similarly, Ishwori Sharma of the Maoist Center is leading deputy mayoral race with 1,896 votes followed by CPN-UML’s Tanka Prasad Oli polling 1,434 votes so far.

Initially the NC was leading in Chaurajahari Municipality. Now both the mayoral and deputy mayoral candidates of the Maoist Center are leading the vote count.

In Chaurajahari, the Maoist Center contested the polls alone while the NC and the UML coordinated.
