APF Club clinches women’s title of Tiger Cup Volleyball Campionship

KATHMANDU: APF Club of the Armed Police Force has for the first time won the Tiger Cup National Women’s Volleyball Championship defeating Tribhuvan Army Club in a straight-set.

In the women’s final held in Pokhara on Saturday, APF defeated Tribhuvan Army Club 25-23, 25-15 and 25-20.

Nepal Police that had won the first edition of the championship stood in fourth place this time.

The winning APF received Rs 300,000 in cash prize and the runner-up Army Club received Rs 150,000.

New Diamond Academy and Nepal Police were to compete for third place on Saturday itself.

On the women’s side, five teams including Tiger Group of Pokhara Nepal, former winner Police, APF, Army Club and New Diamond participated.

Help Nepal and Army Club were to compete for the men’s title in the championship that started on December 12.
