Patan municipality wants woman chair in local consumers’ committee

BAITADI: The Patan municipality in Baitadi has decided to entertain the women leadership in the local consumers’ committee.

As the local government said, there shall be women on the posts of the chair for projects to be operated under the consumer’s committee in the current fiscal year.

According to acting mayor Kamal Singh Bohora, the Municipality has already directed wards to form the consumers’ committees within coming mid-September and fully implement its decision of forming the committees under the women leadership.

“We have come up with the policy of constituting the local consumers’ committees under the chair of women and we urge all bodies concerned for its full implementation. We hope the decision will be helpful in encouraging women to get involved in development efforts and enhance their capacity and leadership skills,”  he said.
