Madhesh province Chief Minister and Ministers on sit-in demanding adjustment of the police force

JANAKPURDHAM: The Chief Minister and Ministers of the Madhesh province government have started a sit-in since Sunday, alleging the federal government has not paid attention to adjusting the police force.

Ministers under the leadership of Chief Minister Lal Babu Raut sat on a dharna in the premises of the provincial head office inside Madhesh Bhavan.

Along with Chief Minister Raut, Physical Infrastructure Development Minister Ram Saroj Yadav, Home and Communications Minister Bharat Shah, State Minister Ruby Karn, Water Supply and Power Minister Omprakash Sharma are sitting on the gherao.

The provincial government announced the first phase of the protest after meeting with the prime minister and asking them (the federal government) to transfer the police to the provincial government, and sending a memorandum giving an ultimatum for the protest.

Under this movement, they have scheduled a daily sit-in for 2 hours for a week from Sunday.
