40 parties registered with EC for November 20 elections so far



KATHMANDU: As many as 40 political parties have been registered with the Election Commission (EC) for the upcoming House of Representatives (HoR) and State Assembly elections slated for November 20 so far.

According to the EC, political parties including CPN-UML, Loktantick Samajwadi Party, and Unified Socialist, among others have registered their parties for the purpose of participating in the upcoming elections.

The EC has called for party registration from August 7 to August 16 to register the parties to participate in the elections for the first-past-the-post system and proportional election system for members of the House of Representatives and the State Assembly.

The Ec will remain open even on public holidays.
